how I came up with these rates
My grant writing rates are built around a commission, which allows me to keep my fees accessible to artists.
If you’d prefer to pay a flat fee, I can create a quote based on the time it will take to complete the work. I charge $70/hour for writing and editing services.

sliding scale
I understand that many artists don’t have the resources to pay a large fee, and I accept sliding scale for option #1, and on a case-by-case basis for all other initial payments.
options for artists
These are my most popular options for artists. If you need more in-depth help with your application, I’m always happy to negotiate a custom fee.
The following rates are based on applications of approximately 2000 words (eg. CCA Artistic Creation). For shorter or longer applications, I adjust accordingly.
option #1:
coaching session
one 45 min. call
I review your application materials, including written application, support material and budget, and provide in-depth feedback during a 45 min. meeting.
$100-200 (sliding scale)
option #2:
one round of edits
and one 1 hr. meeting
I provide a round of substantive edits of your draft proposal. I focus on strengthening the written proposal and give general feedback during the meeting.
$250 initial payment
plus 2.5% of the final grant (if it’s awarded)
option #3:
two rounds of edits
and two 1 hr. meetings
In the first meeting, I focus on clarifying and organizing your ideas. In the second, I fine tune the writing and we can strategize about support material and budget.
$500 initial payment
plus 5% of the final grant (if it’s awarded)
